About KSC
UCF's student-run center for satellites and space systems!
Knights Satellite Club is a student-led aerospace organization at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. We help students turn classroom knowledge into practical experience by designing, building, testing, and launching satellites and high-altitude payloads.
Our teams bring together mechanical and aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, and radio communications. Students work on structures, electronics, flight software, sensors, and ground communications, learning through project meetings, build sessions, and tests.
Our programs include the Knights Air Observation Satellite (KAOS), tethered satellite testbeds, satellite tracking ground stations, and an orbital CubeSat targeting launch in 2028. KAOS-1 carried sensors and cameras to approximately 100,000 feet on a weather balloon; earlier tethered missions tested parachute deployment and release systems. Each mission gives the next student team hardware, data, and lessons to build on.
KSC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Membership and sponsorship support hands-on student work, components, testing, launch activities, and professional development. All UCF students are welcome, including beginners and students outside engineering. Join a project meeting to find where you can contribute.
